The Immortal '70s

The 1970s transformed global music and culture, and nowhere was that spirit more vibrant than across Africa. A decade after independence reshaped much of the continent, artists blended tradition with innovation to create groundbreaking new sounds. Featuring music from Ghana, Mali, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, and more, this program explores one of the most creative and influential eras in African music history.
